Belstra Milling Company has built on
a relationship that started in 1983 with Pig Improvement Company (PIC). It
was that year that BMC became a sales agent for PIC breeding stock.
In 1987 PIC approached Belstra Milling to construct a gilt multiplier
farm because of the high demand for healthy breeding stock. Cambalot Swine
Breeders was constructed in 1988. The need for PIC gilts continued strong
through the 90's and BMC developed Iroquois Valley Swine Breeders (IVSB) in 91,
Pembroke Oaks Farm in 95, Belvarken A.I. Center in 96, Hopkins Ridge Farm in 97,
and Max L. Farms in 2002.
The Belstra farms provide the maintenance of replacement gilts for
30,000 sows of commercial
production in North Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana. We not only represent
PIC products produced on our farms but also provide service to our customers to
help them maximize the value of gilts and semen they purchase. For more
